The diagnostic criteria for sexualdisorders were tested on only three patients before being added to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, in 1980.
Also brought in was Dr. Fred Berlin, a psychologist from Johns Hopkins Hospital and School of Medicine whose profile lists him as the founder of the Johns Hopkins SexualDisorders Clinic.
People with impulse disorders had reduced activity in the bottom front of the brain (as seen in previous experiments), but the people with sexualdisorders had reduced activity at the top front of the brain, indicating that something different was going on.
